In Memoriam: Leonard Rosenman (1924-2008)

I know that in my previous post, I promised to upload the soundtrack to The Last Starfighter, but earlier today, I learned that one of my favorite film score composers passed away today.

Leonard Rosenman, known for his scores to such films as East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause (both 1955), Fantastic Voyage (1966), Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), passed away of a heart attack at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California. He was 83.

In his memory, I post the score that made me a fan of his works.

A Word About My Last Post and High School Musical OST (NBX Special Edition) (Take 2)

The post titled High School Musical OST (NBX Special Edition) came out as it did due to a malfunction of unknown cause. Let's try this again...

http://www.sendspace.com/file/ohivco
Today, I give you the NeoBlisseyX Special Edition OST to the 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. This film, likened by some to be a modern-day Romeo and Juliet (in fact, the "Twinkle Towne" musical in the film is renamed "Juliet and Romeo" in the national stage production, adding to the comparison), spawned two sequels: a 2007 DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie) and an in-production theatrical movie by Walt Disney Pictures set for release (as of this writing) on October 24, 2008.

This NBX Special Edition OST features two of the eight karaoke tracks available in the retail Special Edition (look for the cover here), a performance of "Get'cha Head In The Game" by B5, an up-and-coming R&B group, and a song that was eventually deleted from the film.

Next time, journey with me to a war-torn planet called Rylos as we meet The Last Starfighter. Until then, stay happy.
